Brokenwood ILR Semillon 2019

Share

Fruit is from the Trevena Vineyard with vines planted in 1926. You have to taste this wine to believe its youthful character. It has retained all its collagen, plump and trim in all the right places. Zested lemons, calamansi lime and honeycakes. You taste it and it’s ridiculously expansive with flavour. Candlenut, cashew cream, pineapple core and hemp seed. Perfectly etched acidity continues to surge fruit and raw nut flavours forward. This is the whole package and in a beautifully expressive time of its life, albeit still with a long future ahead. This is what The Hunter can do in warm years and it’s worth celebrating. Drink now with sliced raw snapper, cashew cream and sorrel oil. Or in turn cellar for another 8-10 years.
