Burton McMahon George’s Vineyard Chardonnay 2021

Share

It was a tough call but this was my favourite of the new releases from Burton McMahon. It is a classically proportioned Chardonnay with fantastic drive, poise and balance that offers superb drinking now and will continue to do so for some time to come. There is a delicious aromatic purity to start – florals, citrus and melon with an attractive savoury flintiness gently swinging in. Then it hits you like a freight train with an intense core of vibrant and youthful citrus flavours with smoky/nougat nuances before driving through to a long, seamless porcelain finish. Superb now and for some time to come.
