Taps into the deep well of Shiraz’s considerable power. Deep purple hues. Aromas of sweet aromatics, liquorice, baking spices, pepper, loganberry, plum, black fruits with some cocoa toasty oak notes. Flexes its muscle with some particularly schmick oak. The oak component isn’t shy and is in keeping with the power and ripeness – not to mention, depth – of the fruit. Tannins are firm, tightly coiled. It has a way to go which is clearly the intention. The winemaker suggests up to 15 years. I can only agree.
