Castle Rock Porongurup Chardonnay 2020

Share

If you are looking for a classy chardonnay at a bargain price then look no further than this brilliant wine from Rob Diletti which has real elegance and poise. The fruit comes from near the small Porongurup mountain range which is located in Western Australia’s Great Southern. It is an area well known for riesling thanks to its icy climate, which also has given this wine an attractive tangy acidity. It also has been fermented in youngish barrels which combined with the quality fruit has provided impressive complexity.

It is bright medium straw colour and immediately shows what its made of with citrus and pear plus that praline barrel edge. It’s a fresh and acid driven style of chardonnay on the palate with mid weight and well-balanced acidity before a lingering and creamy finish. So much to like here and a great value wine to enjoy over the next five years with lemon chicken.
