Chalk Hill Alpha Crucis Seaview Syrah 2021

This wine appears to be the darkest of the three Alpha Crucis Syrahs, it has blackberries, blackcurrants, açai berries, dark cocoa, roasted coffee beans, and cracked black pepper. There is also an apparent terroir-driven character of wet red earth, like that intense after-rain smell in the Australian countryside, and you’re breathing it profoundly and freely. Sandy tannins and flavoursome juiciness frame the palate, while the aftertaste feels ferruginous, as soil and tannins dissolve into a very long length.
