Chestnut Grove Verdelho 2021

It’s been a few years since I tasted a Chestnut Grove verdelho. It was once a hugely popular wine then went into a period of hibernation before the vineyard has re-emerged. Manjimup has proved so well suited for this variety, which has traditionally been popular in the far warmer Swan Valley. So, this offers a slightly different character with fresh citrus and floral tropical fruit notes on the nose and a fine slightly spicy palate with a lick of citrus to finish. This is a less overt style to previous iterations and I like where it’s going.
