A beautifully textured wine of tremendous depth and power, albeit with a degree of delicacy. Subtle lemon and quince paste notes on the nose, with a nice chalky character and lightly roasted nuttiness. The finish is fine and chalky. From the old Accolade vineyard, close to Gembrook and near the Yarra at high altitude. It ripens a little later and made without malolactic ferment but spent time on lees and in puncheons.

Ray Jordan has been writing about wine for more than 40 years.
