The quality of the season is immediately apparent; the colour is still vibrant and bright with a ruby red middle palate extending out through crimson hues. Aromas release with slightly gamey black fruits and a faint truffly note, yet the vibrancy and energy of the fruit is retained as it bounces through to a sustained finish. The tannins are seamlessly integrated and almost velvety, contributing to the smooth tactile middle palate. Everything about this wine sits together so well, and it still has some cellaring potential.
