Domaine Naturaliste Discovery Cabernet Sauvignon 2021

95% Cabernet Sauvignon is framed by 4% Malbec and 1% of Merlot, each managed and matured separately in seasoned 225L French oak for 10 months before blending and bottling. A super lifted and approachable iteration of Cabernet Sauvignon, with floral and fragrance leading the way, followed by plenty of crunch. A lighter-boned and juicy drop, there’s a real delicacy in the tannins, but they certainly coat the palate and layer up as the sips stack up. This is vibrant, almost puckering, with plenty of juicy red fruits, mulberries, black plum, a little aniseed, white spice, eucalypt and more of an earthy spectrum. It’s not a graphite-laden, dark brooder of a bottle as the addition of Malbec provides a petticoat of feminine charm. A bargain too.
