Earth Mother Organic Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2020

I am not sure what the secret is here – potentially organic grapegrowing or high quality vineyards. But whatever it is this wine is a delicious example of Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc, if in a slightly atypical and ripe style. It’s expressive and aromatically generous with layers of ripe guava fruits plus the barest hint of dried herbs – not a bit of green asparagus or gooseberry here! It’s then dry and quite mouthfilling with more gentle acidity than usual plus a finish that shows good concentration and length. If you’ve gone off Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc, then this wine might be the one to get you back on the Kiwi wine train, and it also offers great value for money.
