Esilio’s estate vineyard sits between the Barossa and the Adelaide Hills, up into the rolling foothills of the One Tree Hill and Uleybury districts north-east of Adelaide. No mistaking this one: classic Cabernet Sauvignon aromas of fleshy black currant with extras, crushed black pepper, mocha, slow-braised meaty sauce notes, and a waft of kitchen herb garden elements like rosemary, sage and mint. The totality of the bouquet merges into the palate as well, almost perfumed and spicy, the palate structure gentle and supportive. Plenty to like at this price point, drinking well now, and will rock a good osso buco.
