The sexy grubbiness strolls you into funk town – but throw on a lab coat, because the winemaking is clearly in control. Rolled oats, yellow grapefruit and wet chalk. In the mouth it’s sweet and refreshing, flirting with fun but always staying controlled, adding shape and life rather than chaos. The variety is Sauvignon Blanc, though that feels almost beside the point. Counterproductive to tell people, methinks. Not pét-nat, not spritz… but somewhere in the vicinity of both.
