Freeman Robusta Corvina 2015

If you are looking for a wine from 2015 to last until its 21st birthday then look no further than this Hilltops Amarone lookalike, made from Corvina grapes partially dried for ten days. It is a massive wine boasting immense fruit and structure bursting with chocolatey, cocoa, blackberry and molasses aromas that are forceful thanks to the 17% alcohol. Unsurprisingly , the palate follows suit, bold and decadent, but what I like the most is the balance of structure, alcohol and fruit intensity with dried fruit and fig flavours plus gently nutty complexity. The finish is incredibly long too and bodes well for a very long future ahead.
