Funkstille Grüner Veltliner 2020

Share

Seriously, how could you not love a wine called Funkstille? And I am happy to say that the wine absolutely lives up to expectations. It’s a punchy, almost pungent version of Grüner Veltliner, which is generally quite a reserved and elegant grape variety. The more golden colour gives away this is a riper version although it also has retained some attractive freshness. It’s very expressive and almost explodes with yellow peach and custard apple aromas with Grüner’s telltale spiciness on the delicate side. It’s then dry and tangy with more earthy tones and gentle grip on the finish. Great value and a good introduction to Austria’s premier grape variety.
