The inky flesh of Saperavi is always a good wine to close your eyes and experience tasting it blind, for its pigment does not always abide its flavour profile. In this case you’ll find mulberries and Davidson plums, lilac tinged blueberries and butterfly pea powder. Ancho chillis and clouds of carob. The palate is lively, acidity perky and lifting the wine into a medium bodied nature. Tannins are very fine and lick the front of the palate. This would look sensational with sweet blood pudding smeared on sourdough. Drink now and rejoice in this little Georgian beauty, grown in the cool reaches of the Alpine Valley.
