Heartland First Release Malbec 2018

If you were going to pick one region as home to the country’s greatest Malbecs then Langhorne Creek would be near the top of the list, if not in #1 spot. The region gives the local wines fantastic generosity of flavour with that deep Malbec colour and fruit impact that fans of the variety crave. This is a decadent example with its lashings of red berry, inky, violet, blueberry and record shop vinyl aromas with a rich vein of oak couched in behind. The palate follows suit with its deep set fleshy dark fruits with subtle raisin and quince complexity, supported by supple tannins to a long and rich finish. Plenty to like here and this wine is made for a very good time over the next four years.
