Young Porongurup Riesling can be hard work with bright citrus fruits often coiled up tight. But a slightly different tack here and a more approachable style from the Porongurups – not a judgement on quality at all, this is simply a more expressive style at this early stage of life. Beautifully pristine pear and apple aromas are on display with a delicious dusting of savoury spice adding interest. The palate is then bright and juicy with a touch of balancing sweetness before a silky, mineral finish. Very well pitched to enjoy lightly chilled over the next five years.
