Howard Park Flint Rock Shiraz 2018

Share

Shiraz from the Great Southern is a rare beast and can be a bit of a challenge thanks to their often strong savoury characters and firm backbones. But no such problem here as a couple of years bottle age has mellowed this version into a deliciously approachable style. Bright mid ruby, there is good generosity of fruit pastille aromas – red and blackberries, with hints of leather and white pepper. The palate is then supple and fleshy with dark berry and dried herb flavours well supported by balanced but crisp acidity. It’s Shiraz with a difference and well suited to Teriyaki beef.
