Lloyd Brothers Picpoul 2023

When we find that special someone to (theoretically) spend the rest of our lives with, they are referred to as ‘end game’. This said person, displays attributes of longevity and loyalty. In the world of wine, Riesling would be its equivalent, however Picpoul would be the short term threat. Where young Riesling can be austere, Picpoul has vibrancy and vitality. And at 10.5% provides company without the headache. A reticent nose of green kiwi fruit when crunchy and underripe, steeped camomile tea and verbena. Undertones of green olive brine and wet slate are met on the palate with quartz like acidity. While starfruit and lemon infused water provide a gentle puckering that evolves into an intriguing chalky sherbert texture. Zippy youth is evident, but there is no immaturity. If I were a Riesling, I’d feel a little bit insecure!
