Longview Macclesfield Cabernet Sauvignon 2020

Not sure what I was going to find here. 2020 not the easiest vintage across South Australia with Cabernet Sauvignon and the Adelaide Hills also rarely the happiest companions, but there was nothing to worry about although we are absolutely talking about a wine that is made for early drinking thanks to its elegant, silky style and mid-with Bordeaux-like elegance.

Bright deep ruby in colour, there is an attractive mix of blackberry, cedar and dried herb aromas with oak sitting neatly in the background. The palate is all about drinkability with fleshy fruits well supported by supple tannins that help drive it through to quite a long finish. Good varietal character and balance make this go-to Cabernet for a casual lunch.
