Mount Pleasant O.P & O.H Shiraz 2023

Share

Sourced from the Old Paddock and Old Hill vineyards. A wine for peering into its depths, this is delicate with redcurrants, toffee apple and Rainier cherries. A swirl of blackberries and thistle too. Sage leaf, bitter carob and cumin spice. An ideal demonstration of the spectrum of fruit and nuance Shiraz offers when oak is judicious and site is the superstar. Acidity thrills in elegant undulating waves, tannins are silt like. This can rival any fine wine region or varietal, for its purity, definition of lacey texture and plume of perfume. This is innately beautiful and a wondrous wine that speaks not only of remarkable Australian history but of the future of fine wine and the legacy woven in the Mount Pleasant tale. Drink now or cellar further for another 15-20 years. This truly is some of the best value wine for your money, period.
