Mount Pleasant Old Paddock Shiraz 2024

Share

Established in 1921 from cuttings taken from Old Hill. Planted in Pokolbin in a north- south orientation on red and yellow Podzolic soils over clay. The 2024 immediately feels classically Old Paddock, with cassis, dark cherries and mulberry. The savoury herbal spice and kalamata olive tones compliment the bush mint and sage leaf. Acidity ebbs and flows making room for granular and tannins that set firmly in the side of the palate. This is text book Old Paddock and drinking superbly already, a very confident release. This will live to a ripe old age, if drinking now go for charred bbq meats but be patient and wait 8, 10 and onwards and the slow cooked beef cheeks will be the win.
