Nanny Goat Central Otago Pinot Noir 2018

Share

Central Otago is home to some of New Zealand’s greatest Pinot Noirs, wines that radiate with lashings of Pinot fruit. The Nany Goat vineyard is on the Cromwell Road heading up to Wanaka so in the Bendigo sub-region, which gives this a touch more elegance than the usual Central Otago style.

This Pinot Noir is a very elegant and pretty example of Central Otago Pinot Noir. It has gently aromatic layers of cranberry, cherry and wild strawberry fruit backed by spicy and baked earth complexity. On the palate it is richer and more brooding; dark cherry fruits are overlaid by savoury, spicy and meaty nuances, but it still retains the classic Pinot Noir silky palate with a lingering finish. There is a slight sweetness to the oak but it is all well balanced with the fruits making this a wine to enjoy over the next five years. Roll out the duck for this one.
