Adelaide Hills region is developing a distinctive way with Shiraz, different to most warmer areas, still with trademark, varietal dark cherry and plum fruit drive to begin, here with some restraint and peppery spice filtering through a suggestion of braised meaty flavours. There are dark chocolate elements also, flavour and tannins, oak maturation sitting further back in the shadows. An excellent opportunity to see a wine with some age character developing, though still vital and at peak performance. Value – for sure.
