Pepper Tree Strandlines Single Vineyard Cabernet Shiraz 2019

Share

Cabernet shiraz, the ultimate Aussie red blend, is going through a bit of a purple patch. The blend can have numerous personalities from simple and yummy with no expectations other than deliciousness to way more complex, delivered with serious intent. File Standlines in the latter category. Actually, make that serious with grunt. It makes a lot of sense when you see that Peppertree plans to release this wine in June, 2022. Fruit and oak are rubbing shoulders with grippy tannins at the moment. All three will no doubt have cosied up by the time of release. Cabernet takes the lead on the bouquet with penetrating black berries, leafy herbals, tilled earth and savoury aromas. It settles in comfortably with shiraz on the palate introducing more earthiness and briar with mint and a touch of aniseed, taking its time to come together.
