Pertaringa Lakeside Shiraz 2021

If 2019 was somewhat underrated, 2021 has been hyped to the heavens. The test is whether or not the wines live up to that adulation. This one? Absolutely. Young and fresh, for sure, but that is not a crime. Plush and supple with some attractive notes of coffee beans, tobacco leaves, chocolate, plums and dry herbs. Good focus and well-crafted structure. Fine tannins then lead to a soft finish, with attractive persistence. No reason that, as well as providing pleasure now, this wine won’t continue to do so for the next five years at least.
