Peter Lehmann Portrait Grenache Rosé 2021

My goodness this is pretty! There’s a new colourful tweak to the classic label design and an elegant bottle shape to show off the perfectly pale, peachy pink wine. There’s abundant summer berries on the nose – strawberries and raspberries with some white cherries thrown in and a hint of watermelon. But there’s also tangy golden kiwi fruit and a fennel seed and almond meal savour. It’s so damn silky on the palate – the texture of just-whipped meringue backed by stunning concentration but with no fruit bomb in sight. The summer fruits give way to ruby grapefruit and clingstone peaches balanced by a lovely spicy hint of white pepper. Drink with grilled chicken and Waldorf salad, heavy on the nutty crunch.
