EPIC Negociants Gneissec Rock No. 33 Cabernet Sauvignon 2020

Share

The connection between Cabernet Sauvignon and Margaret River is a well written story, cast here in an expression that harks back to many a Bordeaux wine, offering in a romantic sense a deeper connection to its origins and traditional wine styling. This is a touch smoky and shows some of Cabernet’s oft-noted green capsicum characters – herbal or herbaceous – and a full squeeze of Ribena like fruit crush flavours, packed tightly with light, grainy tannins to wrap it all together in the finish. Do open this up a good few hours before pouring, and decant for sure. It’s old school and good on it for its nod to classicism.
