Vines planted in 1961, the wine captures the first morning dew balancing on blades of grass. A hint of flint, green apple curls and lemon balm leaf. It’s dry and succulent with the freshness of aloe and lingering swirls of driving acidity. There are plenty of mineral notes, cracked blue stone and pumice. It’s a wine you could easily sip away all day, a packet of salty crisps by the pool but equally this will age slowly and evenly over the next 10-15 years and evolve entirely into a new being, it’s worth the journey. Buy 12 and have the ability to do both.
