Piedra Negra Mendoza Reserve Malbec 2018

Argentina has made a name for itself with big reds thanks to the nearby Andes mountain range, with the resulting wines also perfect with the local diet for meat, meat and more meat.

The 2018 Piedra Negra is super youthful and vibrant with lashings of dark berry fruits. Luscious blackberry and blackcurrant are lifted by violets and old spice thanks to some oak aging. That follows on the palate with a full-bodied, rich and ripe wine with great fruit impact, supple tannins and a generous, long finish. This is a wine that will surely suit Shiraz drinking carnivores looking for something new, especially to match up with a thick rump steak.
