A wealth of blackberries, mulberries and sweet black cherries. Davidson plum and sapote fruit. Allspice, cocoa pod and sage leaf. Concentrated fruit that focused on the palate without the distracting sweet oak tones. Instead the direct acidity funnels the fruit to the back palate where some seriously savoury tannins await. This could almost be a cool climate wine for its class and tailored frame. There is a violet and hibiscus perfume that lingers in the room. Fruit reigns supreme and this is the kind of wine that will impress a large range of palates. Drink now and will cellar for another 3-5 years. Drink with blush lamb loin and roast vegies.
Shanteh cut her teeth at Sydney’s Award-Winning Quay restaurant where she worked for over a decade and was Head Sommelier from 2018 till 2022. She has been nominated for the Good Food Guide Sommelier of the Year award on three occasions and claims that her experience as a Len Evans scholar as one of the highlights of her career.
