Pt. Leo Estate Reserve Chardonnay 2018

Here we have a chardonnay that is almost a guaranteed crowd pleaser which sits nicely in between the traditional oaky premium chardonnay style and the more modern savoury, French influenced wines. It is bright mid straw and immediately powerful and complex with layers of nectarine and citrus fruits with significant but well balanced oak. There is also some attractive winemaker influences too, including savoury lees and gun flint. In the mouth the wine is then big, broad and mouthfilling with luscious fruit for the Mornington Peninsula plus a creamy texture although lacks a little in the delicacy stakes. Drink it up with roast lemon chicken.
