I was quite surprised to see the price of this wine as I expected it to cost a lot more, and it’s exactly what I love about Barossa Shiraz but without being over the top. The aromas are pronounced and alluring, showing young and rich red, black and blue fruits as well as pepper, herbs and confectionery. The palate is silky and mouth filling with medium+ body, acid and tannin – everything shows great balance. The Deep Purple punches well above its weight, and for those who love Barossa Shiraz but without prominent oak or alcohol, it’s a great choice.
