Purple Hands Wines Shiraz 2021

Ahhhh. Sometimes all you want is well done, archetype Shiraz, and the Purple Hands team deliver in spades. Inky stain-down-the-wall-of-the-glass colour. Plenty of fleshy plum purple, raspberry red spiced by black and green peppercorns and a kiss of anise-laden licorice. Second sniffs of lavender honey, some dense burnt-ends meatiness and a swathe of just-sweet enough oak. Showing elegance and restraint, yet silky and fluid: effortlessly flowing with a plushness of fruit and grip of quality, fine, rumbly tannin. Excellent length, with freshness and concentration through the long tail. Excellent value.
