Riposte The Halberd Chardonnay 2024

A single vineyard release from Tim Knappstein and Son (Nick) honing in on a single vineyard in the Kenton Valley district then further refined as a barrel selection. The wine shines a light on the currently celebrated elegant style of elite Adelaide Hills Chardonnay, showing beautiful fruit purity and given extra depth with a delicate cashew and spice note courtesy of 25% new oak barrique resting time. Hills signature white stone fruits carry the flavour line, with just a bit of wild ferment and yeast lees funk, all underpinned by a decent line of spicy acidity. One more beauty to add to the Adelaide Hills lexicon.
