Robert Mondavi Private Selection Rum Barrel Aged Merlot 2018

As I swirled the glass, plum jam and toasty oak filled the air. There’s black cherries and blackberries with the rum barrels adding the sweet/savoury complexity of molasses. 

Intensely concentrated on the palate and full bodied. Mouthfilling with seamless tannins coated in lashings of black fruit and sweet, spicy liquorice. A hint of dark chocolate lingers, as does the warming alcohol. 

If you love red wine and dark chocolate then grab a glass and a slab of something 70%+ and snuggle up in front of the fire.
