Rowlee Single Vineyard Chardonnay 2022

The aromas are gorgeous, showing such purity of fruit, and lots of fruit at that. There’s zesty grapefruit, lemon pith, white peach and juicy yellow nectarine. The lovely contrast of citrus and stone fruit is achieved in this high-altitude, single vineyard wine, by staggering picking times 12 days apart. Time spent ageing in French oak adds a creamy vanilla bean yoghurt character, like being licked from a marble bench top – that minerality!  In your mouth it has both concentration and finesse; showing that same waltz of orchard fruits. Fine juicy acidity with just a hint of tang begs for some accompanying seafood. The silky texture and lingering finish ensures another glass.
