Seppelt Mt Ida Shiraz 2023

Share

Mt Ida is a beautiful spot overlooking the Heathcote wine region to its south and west. While it can get quite scorching there at times, the 2023 vintage was marked by lots of rain, but some judicious vineyard work resulted in an impressive wine. It has a dense purple colour which stains the glass, and presents incredible black and blue fruit, with loads of spice, chocolate and graphite notes – the aromas are heady yet pretty. The palate is alive and opulent, with firm tannins starting to integrate well. It hides the alcohol and has the structure to see it cellar for another ten years.
