A riper, richer style of Chardonnay, with cinnamon, peaches and custard apple. Part of me wanted to dislike this wine for not having the acidity and tension I usually look for. But if you’re after a big, buttery Chardonnay (don’t judge me, it literally tastes like butter), this fits the framework and is a delightful example of the style. In the mouth, there’s custard, baked apple and more stone fruit. It’s indulgent, so indulge. Drink it with a potato pizza smothered in truffle oil, and add extra cheese.
