Taltarni Discovery Grenache Shiraz Mourvèdre 2021

A classic little GSM from what deserves more recognition as a classic region. The ‘discovery’ here refers to the coming-of-age of the Pyrenees Grenache vines, allowing this blend to be created. There’s black cherries and cola icy poles, licorice, white pepper, and the beautifully nostalgic scent of sitting in a school-yard mulberry tree, filling my pockets with fruit (much to my mother’s horror). A juxtaposition of richness and elegance in the mouth. Ultra juicy, with lovely ripe tannin and a medium body, this wine is intensely slurpable and perfect with mum’s spaghetti bolognese
