Classic green herb and pea shoot aromas mix with honeysuckle, lemongrass and citrus. And is that ginger hiding in the background? Yes, it is. The extra, discreet lick of fresh-cut ginger adds a little something special to this sophisticated young Sauvignon Blanc. In keeping with the Terre à Terre style, the juice was fermented in seasoned 600 litre French oak demi-muids and left on lees for eight months. The result is a complex array of flavours, not to mention a middle palate textural warmth. Bright acid entry with apple, grapefruit, dill, sage, herbals and green tea usher in a well-judged Sauvignon enhanced by ginger, spice notes and a touch of oak-derived nougat nuttiness. Ample in flavour, bright in acidity and silky in texture.
