Thistledown The Distant Light Grenache Shiraz 2018

This wine combines thick Barossan Shiraz with hearty McLaren Vale Grenache from some exceptional sites to create a robust and powerful style. There is a freight train of complex fruit ranging from roasted meats, raspberry pastilles, old leather, ground spices, dark cherry and mulberry with toasted coconut oak in close support. It then offers a massive volume of ripe fruit, baked earth and blackberry flavours with plenty of tannins before finishing long with touches of tar and meat. It’s a bit old school.
