Tomich Icon Q96 Chardonnay 2022

Share

A family icon wine made with Bernard clone 96 picked from the Q block within their 27 block vineyard.  Elegance personified in this bottle. Immediately there is a Frangipani bouquet and a hint of the kind of face creams and makeup worn by the Duchess of Wales. It smells expensive and dignified. Meyer lemon skin, white peach sorbet, wild jasmine and ginger jam. French oak provides the driving force behind the intensity of fruit with exhilarating acidity and a soft cheese creaminess. It’s dialled back and that is what is capturing my attention. It feels unadulterated and confidently influential. A triumph. Drink with potato blinis, caviar and sour cream.
