Here is great example of an ultra-ripe Australian Shiraz with some years under its below. Deeply coloured, almost opaque in colour, it shows bold, robust aromas of chocolate, mulberry and blackberry jam that are ultra seductive with lavish, sweet oak in support. It’s then soft and voluptuous on the palate, again jammy and rich but also showing the first signs of fading with tannins now soft and pliable. It’s a crowd pleaser and best enjoyed over the next couple of years although it will live longer.
