Vasse Felix DHJ1 CHardonnay 2021

This 2021 single vineyard Chardonnay, made only from Gingin clone, from the cooler Wallcliffe zone opens up with beautifully savoury aromas of chalk, and citrus backed by nougat barrel ferment complexity, laced with fine oak spice. There is then lovely purity and focus of fruit that is tightly wound, more chalky citrus fruits with a porcelain texture, notes of floral and cereal delivered over a supremely long and fine finish. A very modern Australian Chardonnay that needs time to evolve but the quality is undeniable
