Venturer Series Aglianico Rosé 2021

Well this must be very close to a first – rosé made from Aglianico and Shiraz. Normally known for powerful and rustic wines, Aglianico has been used to very good effect here and has given this wine a distinctly savoury touch, which provides a significant edge over many rosés under $10. There is also an attractive French feel which you almost never find in local wines.

Pale onion skin in colour with good elegance, it shows peach skin and white strawberry fruits with a subtle layer of ground spices. It’s then a fuller, food-friendly style on the palate with red fruit flavours and more spice before finishing with good length. Team it up with a classic Prosciutto and melon salad for optimal enjoyment.
