The Voyager Estate The Modern Cabernet Sauvignon 2019 is a beautifully fragrant and elegant expression of the Margaret River blend. There is a superb array of aromas on show, which are pretty and understated starting with violets, pine needles and cedar with the 12% Merlot in the blend showing itself in the form of mulberry all kept in check by high quality oak. Juicy, vibrant and mid-wight, there is a delightful upfront, supple appeal to the wine which cascades over the palate in waves before it is tightened up by light, al-dente tannins. Fresh acidity give vibrance to a silky, ethereal finish. I am not always a fan of user-friendly Cabernet but this is stunning, if in an earlier drinking style.
