Equal parts of this new classic “Rhonish” red blend – Grenache/Shiraz/Mourvedre. Hence the Symmetry title here, the wine sitting in the Watkins “Mad Cousins” series that includes alternative varieties and creative blends. This GSM ticks all the boxes you would expect from the trio: more ruby to garnet than densely dark, fragrant with bush blossom, vibrant spiced fruit gels, and a palate that echoes all that beauty in a friendly, drinking, medium weighted vibe. Add in pretty lavender suggestions and helpful sticky tannins and it’s all rather lovely, glossy and quite delicious.
