Yalumba Steeple Vineyard Shiraz 2016

Of all the Yalumba premium shiraz, the Steeple Vineyard Shiraz is probably the wine that is most approachable and built for immediate impact and enjoyment. Not to say it won’t age well – it will. But there is exceptional generosity of Barossa fruit and oak on display already that will knock the socks off Barossa fans from Day 1.

There is also a lot of attention to detail and it shows. Biodynamically grown fruit and new super-premium oak made from 350 year old trees come together and create a deeply coloured and flavoured wine. There is layer after layer of mulberry, blueberry and baked earth fruits well matched to new French Oak. The palate is then dry, full-bodied and remarkably fresh; the fruit seamless and rich but not overdone with a river of tannins sitting underneath. The finish is then long and promises a long life ahead. A super-premium Barossan for now and decades to come.
