In the context of the Monterra portfolio, this Barossa shiraz says a lot about regional and district influences compared to its other McLaren Vale shiraz variations. This is from a vineyard in the foothills district of Angaston and shows quite distinctive site characters in its overriding black cherry fruit feels, nose to tail. It’s fleshy, medium to full bodied, with subtle sweet kitchen spices adding flavour lift plus a peppery note in the finish. In drinkability terms, it’s got a lot going for it.
Monterra Reserve Barossa Valley Shiraz 2018
